What really keeps us here?

The frightening conundrum of being human is that we’re all stuck in memories. Now when I say that I mean simple contentions like people only die when we forget them, for it is us who keeps them alive. We keep their spirit alive. What died didn’t stay dead, they’re alive, alive in our head. We remember and memory is a second chance. I suppose it is not what happens to us in life but how we remember it and what we remember. How we feel, how we see things; that is remembered far more than what was once said. “Loving is so short, forgetting is so long,” I never understood that because I had not loved enough to have remembered, or perhaps I had not lost enough to regret. How we feel, how we see things; that is remembered far more than what was once said. And I wish the people I cared about saw themselves how I saw them, I wish everyone saw themselves how I did. So much is beautiful, yet undiscovered. Maybe that’s what makes it so much more beautiful, not realising. It is quite silly how the people we idealise so much seem to think of themselves as burdens, but we see them as sanctuaries for our ruins. Thats what love is. To see beyond, to have hope for what was once lost. For what was once lost can be redeemed, through us. And for what I had lost, would you look me in the eye once again? Like all the love we had was on standby and waiting for our permission to rejoice in our glory once again, would you like to remember me once again? I hope with all my heart, you remember your inner grieving child and forgive them for they are rusted mirrors of you and the clearer picture shows you not expecting explanations but forgiveness for not keeping them alive. What was once lost can be redeemed again, what was once forgotten can be remembered again.
